Curitiba's municipal government has just acquired a Terex RS 425C Reclaimer. The equipment is already in use and will be essential to achieve the city's objective to pave 200 kilometers until the end of the year.
The RS 425C Reclaimer is a high technology equipment that removes the old asphalt layer, grinds it, mix it with cement and then returns it to the same street, as the base for the new pavement. Thus, residues are reused, reducing the environmental impact as well as costs.
This is the second time the government of Curitiba closes a contract with Terex. The first time was in November 2009, when a Magnum 140 Asphalt Plant and a VDA 421 Paver were purchased. The equipments were acquired to extend the monthly capacity to pave the city's streets.
